Bomb Threats Target Three Schools in India’s Delhi
The alerts were directed at two schools operated by the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)—one in Prashant Vihar and the other in Dwarka Sector 16—as well as a school affiliated with the Indian Navy located in the Chanakyapuri area.
Authorities stated the threats were sent via email by unidentified sources.
Specialized bomb disposal units and sniffer dog squads were immediately dispatched to the affected schools to carry out detailed inspections.
"Police teams immediately moved in to check the school premises at all three locations," a police official confirmed, noting that nothing suspicious was found during the searches and the threats were ultimately determined to be hoaxes.
A formal investigation has been initiated, and police are currently working to trace the origin of the threatening emails by analyzing the Internet Protocol addresses used.
India has seen a surge in fake bomb threats over the past year, causing panic across multiple sectors including aviation, education, healthcare, and hospitality.
